The Orthodontist
Dr Jeff Swann was born in Naracoorte in South Australia. He graduated as a dentist from the University of Adelaide in 1978 and entered private practice. After spending time in South Australia, practicing general dentistry, he made the decision to move to America to complete his Master’s degree in Orthodontics and graduated in 1992 from the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
Since 1992 Dr Swann has run a successful orthodontic practice in Darwin, with branch practices in Palmerston, Northern Territory and also Kununurra, Western Australia. He is an Australian Platinum Invisalign Orthodontist having treated the most cases in the Northern Territory. Jeff keeps up with the latest orthodontic treatments and technology by participating in continuing education programs, both in Australia and overseas.
During his professional career, Dr Swann has been President of the Australian Dental Association (Darwin Branch) and a Federal Councillor for the ADA. Jeff also continues to hold professional memberships with the Australian Dental Association (ADA), the Australian Society of Orthodontists (ASO), the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) and the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO).
In his spare time Jeff’s pastimes are motorcycling and technical diving, and regularly travels overseas to experience more challenging diving locations. Jeff is also an active member of the Darwin Rotary Club of which he is a past president of the Club.
Supporting Dr Swann is a dedicated team of dental assistants, lab technicians, hygienists, therapists and receptionists. Most staff have been working in the dental industry for over 10 years and bring to the practice a wealth of knowledge.
