Dr Rhonda Coyne

Dr. Rhonda is passionate about empowering her patients to have a beaming smile and great dental health for life! Giving her patients the gift of self-belief and confidence in their teeth and smile is the most rewarding and exciting part of her job, in addition to being fun!

Dr. Rhonda was born in Brisbane and spent her early years in the southeast corner of the state. Her family moved to north Queensland in her latter years of primary school. Dr. Rhonda went back to Brisbane for boarding school and completed her undergraduate dental degree before returning to Cairns and the Atherton Tablelands where she worked as a school dental officer. She went to Melbourne for her Graduate Orthodontic degree and since finishing in 1998, has returned to work and live in Cairns.

Education and Continuing Education

Dr. Rhonda studied dentistry in Brisbane at the University of Queensland and orthodontics at the University of Melbourne, receiving many awards and prizes for academic achievement and merit including the University Medal.

She is a lifelong student dedicated to constant improvement and being the best she can be. She is presently a clinical tutor at James Cook University and has also been involved with the orthodontic graduate program at the University of Melbourne. Dr. Rhonda has completed further studies in tertiary education, and coming from a family of teachers means she has a special interest in education in all its forms. Teaching the orthodontic graduate students keeps her up-to-date with the latest research and academia. In addition to her teaching commitments, Dr. Rhonda likes to attend as much professional development as possible.
