Wilkinson Orthodontics began almost two decades ago on the Gold Coast with one goal in mind – providing excellent Orthodontic care based upon the foundation of family trust, integrity and passion. From there Wilkinson Orthodontics has since grown and flourished, keeping these principal values at heart.

The Orthodontists
Dr Peter Wilkinson
Dr Peter Wilkinson completed his degree in Dentistry in 1989. After working in general dentistry in New Zealand, Dr Wilkinson then moved to the United Kingdom in 1993 working for the National Health Service and private practices. After 8 year in general dentistry, he completed a three-year Master’s Degree in Orthodontics at the University of Otago in New Zealand in 2000.
Working extensively in New Zealand and the United Kingdom, Dr Wilkinson then moved to Australia, Gold Coast in 2001, later, in 2004 establishing Wilkinson Orthodontics. Dr Wilkinson passion for helping people whilst creating confident smiles has been his primary focus, specialising in getting to know his patients individually and approaching each patient with care and consideration.
Dr Wilkinson is a member of the Australian Dental Association and Australian Society of Orthodontics and regularly attends orthodontic conferences and continued professional development training courses to stay current with the latest advances in orthodontics.
When Dr Wilkinson is not looking after his patients he enjoys participating in family activities. Another favourite pastime of Dr Wilkinson is restoring old Kombi’s and vintage cars. Feel free to ask him about it but be warned it might be hard to stop him once he gets going on that subject! Another thing you may not know about Dr Wilkinson is that he is an accomplished musician and plays bass guitar.
Dr Tapiwa Gwengo
Dr Gwengo graduated from dental school at the University of Otago in New Zealand. After working in private practice in Auckland New Zealand and New South Wales Dr Gwengo pursued further education to become a Specialist Orthodontist. He attended specialist training in Orthodontics at the University of Queensland and concurrently obtained membership with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
Dr Gwengo has a passion for delivering outstanding treatment for his patients while always looking to improve and build on existing techniques and knowledge. He is driven to continually learn and develop his skills and pays special attention to his individual patients and their specialised treatment.
As part of his involvement in the orthodontic community Dr Gwengo is a member of the Australian Dental Association, the Australian Society of Orthodontists, and the American Association of Orthodontists.
When away from the orthodontic clinic Dr Gwengo can be found exploring local restaurants, attending sporting events or travelling abroad to catch up with family.
