Dr Sanj Ratneser

Dr Sanj is Impression Orthodontics' Principal Orthodontist. Sanj grew up in Perth and graduated high school at Christ Church Grammar School in Claremont. He had a strong desire to work in health, which led him to study dentistry at the University of Adelaide, where he completed his degree in 1998.

After a brief stint working as a dentist in Perth, Sanj caught the travel bug and moved to the UK to work in private practice with an emphasis on children's dentistry. In 2007, Sanj returned to Australia to undertake specialist training in orthodontics at the University of Melbourne.

Sanj was awarded the 2010 John McDonald award by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. This is one of the world's most prestigious awards in orthodontics. Sanj was also awarded the 2010 Elsdon Storey research award by the Australian Society of Orthodontists for his research on dental decay around braces.

When not straightening teeth Sanj is busy helping his wife Monique look after their 3 sons, 2 cats, and a dog. Sanj is also a big fan of all things golf and is a member of Cottesloe golf club. Sanj is the immediate past President of the Australian Society of Orthodontists WA branch.

 

Dr Shiva Senathirajah

Dr Shiva Senathirajah grew up in Perth where she graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours from the University of Western Australia. Shiva worked as a general dentist in a private practice in Perth for six years.

Shiva then moved to Melbourne where she obtained her specialist qualification in orthodontics through the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry programme at the University of Melbourne. Shiva is certified with the Australasian Orthodontic Board and holds membership with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.

In addition to providing the highest standard of orthodontic care for patients, Shiva also has an interest in orthodontic clinical research and has presented her research locally at the Australian Society of Orthodontists WA Clinical Day, nationally at the Australian Society of Orthodontists Foundation Meeting and internationally at American Association of Orthodontists Annual Sessions and at the European Orthodontic Society Congress.

Shiva participated in the Charley Schultz Resident Scholar Award programme in the United States of America and was also awarded first prize for the TP Postgraduate Clinical Award.

Shiva loves being an orthodontist and feels it is a privilege to work together with patients to transform their smiles, which can be enjoyed for the rest of their lives.
